Celebrating 30 years of Colin Baker's season 23 story The Trial of a Time Lord

Doctor Who:
The Trial of a Time Lord
The Ultimate Foe
By Robert Holmes Episode 13
Pip and Jane Baker Episode 14

“In all my travellings throughout the universe I have battled against evil, against power-mad conspirators. I should have stayed here. The oldest civilisation, decadent, degenerate and rotten to the core. Ha! Power-mad conspirators, Daleks, Sontarans, Cybermen, they're still in the nursery compared to us. Ten million years of absolute power, that's what it takes to be really corrupt.”

After the turn of events from Terror of the Vervoids  The Doctor is now on trial for genocide to go along with the charges of meddling.  The Inquisitor tells The Doctor that he can call witnesses to help his cause but how can he get them as they are all scattered throughout space and time.   When suddenly Mel and Glitz appear at the trial and this turn of events catches The Valeyard by surprise.

Then a more shocking turn of events as The Master appears on the Matrix screen offering to help The Doctor.  The Master shows proof that The Doctor is correct that the Matrix can be entered by anyone and events can be altered as he shows the key of the Matrix he has that has dumbfounded the Keeper of the Matrix.  The Master beckons the Time Lords to let Sabalom Glitz give his testimony.  Glitz explains that on Ravalox he was there to steal the secrets of the Matrix that the Sleepers had stolen.  It appears that the tide might be turning for The Doctor.

The thing about holding the meteor is that you can only hold it for a little bit of time before it consumes you.  Charlie finds out that the meteor is holding the essence of an alien murder and that they all have been transported to its prison.  They all discover that they are trapped in this prison and they only way they can figure out to get out is to hold the meteor and ask it questions but in doing so they reveal more of themselves than they really want to.

Into the Time Vortex Interview with Anneke Wills - Polly from Doctor Who

Details on Doctor Who UNIT: Silenced

UNIT takes on The Silence in the new UNIT box set titled UNIT: Silenced.  This box set stars Jemma Redgrave and Ingrid Oliver as Kate Stewart and Osgood.  You can order this box set from the Big Finish website.
https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/unit---silenced-1210

Decades after their defeat by the Eleventh Doctor, the Silence prepare to rise against humanity....

1. House of Silents

There is no record of the presence of an alien species known as ‘The Silents’ on Earth. UNIT has never engaged hostiles capable of editing themselves from observers’ memories.

There is no evidence that such an opponent, if real, is regrouping and beginning a new plan of infiltration and manipulation.

Kate Stewart and her team are in no mortal danger. How can they be, when they don’t even know the enemy exists?

2. Square One

It’s business as usual at UNIT, and thankfully, Kate Stewart has no immediate threats to concern her. Or so she believes.

But when Sam Bishop returns from leave, he notices things aren’t quite as they seem. Soon he and Osgood are on the trail of an elusive enemy.

Meanwhile, Kenneth LeBlanc and his controversial political movement gather momentum, and one UNIT team member isn’t quite themselves...

3. Silent Majority

Kenneth LeBlanc looks set to lead his party to national victory, overturning political opinion and taking the polls by storm. UNIT can only stand and watch as a silent revolution takes place.

But who are LeBlanc’s real backers? And what use to them is the triumph of a leader who seems to be nothing more than a liability?

The Silents are about to make the headlines.

4. In Memory Alone

When Sam Bishop and Osgood visit an orbiting space station for a routine mission, they have no idea that they are part of an alien scheme, years in the planning.

As the global situation spins out of control, Kate seeks help from an unlikely source.

The Silents are not done with humanity yet – and they will have their revenge.

Doctor Who Christmas Special Sneak Peek Clip

Doctor Who - Earthshock Review

Continuing Our Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Cybermen

Doctor Who:
Earthshock
By Eric Saward

DOCTOR: Emotions have their uses.

CYBERLEADER: They restrict and curtail the intellect and logic of the mind.

DOCTOR: They also enhance life! When did you last have the pleasure of smelling a flower, watching a sunset, eating a well-prepared meal?

CYBERLEADER: These things are irrelevant.

DOCTOR: For some people, small, beautiful events is what life is all about!

The Doctor and Adric are having quite the argument.  Adric is tired of being teased and being considered an outsider and wants to go home.  The Doctor is furious over this as it would require going back into E – Space and through a CVE and would be really tricky if not disastrous.  So The Doctor materializes the TARDIS in an underground cave and decides to go outside and calm down leaving Adric to plot the course to his own destruction.

While looking at dinosaur fossils The Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan come across mining equipment and soon the military who are investigating an attack on the expedition that was working there.  Put there are problems as The Doctor is accused of killing the expedition and is trying to tell his side when the group is attacked by androids.   It appears these androids are the ones responsible for killing the expedition and a group of Lt. Scotts men.  They successfully destroy the Androids but realize that they were equipped with cameras and that whoever controls the androids knows what is going on.

Doctor Who:
Revenge of the Cybermen
By Gerry Davis

“You've no home planet, no influence, nothing. You're just a pathetic bunch of tin soldiers skulking about the galaxy in an ancient spaceship.”

Using the time ring to meetup with the TARDIS at Nerva Beacon The Doctor, Sarah and Harry have discovered that the TARDIS is not there and that this is not the Nerva Beacon they left earlier.  In fact it is a beacon that is not even in orbit around Earth at all. In fact it is in orbit around what looks like an asteroid that has been floating in space and caught in Jupiter’s gravity.  As the three travelers decide to leave the control room a dead body falls through the door they were going through.  In fact it appears there are dead people all over the beacon and they appear to have died from a plague.

They are eventually captured by the remaining members of the crew and have been briefed on what going on by Commander Stevenson and it all seems to have started a few weeks ago.  When they hear another crew member scream they discover that he has the plague and The Doctor discovers that the man does not have the plague but has been bitten by something and is dying from the poison.  The Doctor discovers that Kellerman isn’t all he appears to be and then realizes that the asteroid is in fact Voga the planet of gold.  Things are coming into focus especially after Sarah Jane is bitten by what is discovered to be a Cybermat the creature that the Cybermen use to soften up the station for an invasion.  The Cybermen want to destroy Voga and the Vogans want to destroy the Cybermen and The Doctor, Sarah and Harry are stuck in the middle trying to make sure the Cybermen are stopped and that Voga and the beacon do not get destroyed.

Doctor Who - Lethbridge - Stewart: The Grandfather Infestation Review

Lethbridge Stewart:
The Grandfather Infestation
By John Peel

The Grandfather Infestation is the 7th book in the Lethbridge Stewart series and the first one that I have read.  For those of you that do not know Candy Jar Books have the rights to the characters of the Brigadier and Anne Travers and have continued with stories that take place between The Web of Fear and The Invasion in the Doctor Who Universe.  What you see in these books is the formation of UNIT before it becomes UNIT in The Invasion as the Brigadier is just in beginning stages with his new unit the Fifth Operational Corps which as you would expect does what UNIT would do against aliens.
