Is this gonna be coming our way at the end of series 7 |
After all of yesterday’s hub bub about Matt Smith staying or leaving I thought that I should comment on the whole ordeal and share my thoughts. Well one thing we know for sure is that one day Matt Smith will not be The Doctor. That is a guarantee like death and taxes. Yep, Matt Smith will not be The Doctor one day. Come on it is no big secret every actor from Hartnell to Tennant has left the role. Matt Smith is no exception and he will be gone someday. But is that day rapidly approaching?
I believe
so. All you have to do is look back to
yesterday’s (Wednesday January 26, 2012) cryptic tweets, statements and video as
proof. In one video he says he will be
staying for the future. Well that’s great.
In my thought process the future could
be next week, next month or 6 months from now.
Not really a good answer but one that will satisfy those wanting him to
stay.
Then in the
same interview he says he has one year left of being The Doctor. What? You just
said you love being The Doctor and will be The Doctor for the future but your saying
that you have one year left. I’m
confused. I’m The Doctor for the future
must mean only for a year in the future of 2012. Hmmm.
Does that mean in 2013 he will not be The Doctor filming anything new? If that is so then it might be possible that
he will be a busy actor in 2012 filming series 7 and quite possibly series 8
for 2013. If that quote from a BBC source is to be believed then Matt Smith
will be pretty busy getting some breaks to pursue outside work most possibly in
Hollywood.
But then
again we could be looking into this a bit too much and the fact that if they do
film two series back to back could mean that maybe the Hollywood movie of
Doctor Who possibly starring Matt Smith could be filmed in 2013 and be ready
for a release date for the weekend of the 50th Anniversary of Doctor
Who. Well like all things time will tell and it
most certainly will but all we have to do is wait and see what transpires.
