Doctor Who Magazine Reports No Classic Doctors in 50th.

Well what is being reported by DoctorWhoTV the new Doctor Who Magazine confirms that none of the classic Doctors will not be in the 50th Anniversary Special (unless it is in flashbacks of old clips) and that Christopher Eccleston was approached to be in it but was unable to be in it.  This is pretty disappointing news for fans of the classic series and it is unfortunate that the 50th Anniversary is being celebrated from 2005 to 2013.  I guess all the stuff before doesn't matter.  Here is a quote from Steven Moffat that sums up Doctor Who fandom's thinking today.

“It is important you don’t turn it into a fanfest. We can’t make this all about looking backwards. It’s actually got to be the start of a new story.”

Well the 50th should be a fanfest and the show should be celebrated for the past 50 years and not the past 9.  Oh well at least Big Finish anniversary special will celebrate from 1963 to 2004.  What a wasted opportunity. I am truly disappointed.

  1. It would have been very difficult to have an hour long special with all the Doctors in it. Hopefully there is a nod tot he past Doctors but for the most part I am fine with them not in it.
