Joe Kubert Legendary Comic Book Artist Has Passed Away

Legendary comic book artist Joe Kubert has passed away yesterday at the age of 85.  He is best known as the artist who brought Sgt. Rock to life.  He is also known for being the artist on Hawkman and creating the prehistoric character Tor.  He also ran the Kubert School in New Jersey which obviously taught art.  He has two sons Andy and Adam who are also successful and popular comic book artists in their own right.

He was still drawing comic books for DC at the age of 85 taking art duties for Before Watchmen: Nite Owl.  He has a long history in the comic book industry drawing a lot of the iconic characters. His long comic book career started back in 1938 when he was 12 years old and he was still active till his passing. He was very popular and was always on hand at conventions to meet and sign for his fans.
Here are a few links about the career of Joe Kubert.
