At the official 50th Anniversary Convention Steven Moffat announced that filming on Peter Capaldi's first season of Doctor who would begin in January. Steven Moffat also announced that Series 8 of Doctor Who would air in the fall but no date or if it would be a split season wasn't announced because he said he hadn't heard yet.
