Zombies invade Montana - it's on TV, so it must be true!

If the zombies aren't real, why does Montana issue hunting permits?
If you were watching television in Montana on Monday (really, what else is there to do in Montana?), you may have heard a disturbing emergency alert message during the middle of "The Steve Wilkos Show." As the show's participants debated "teen cheaters," the familiar alarm of the emergency broadcast system interrupted the broadcast:

"Civil authorities in your area have reported that the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living. Follow the messages onscreen that will be updated as information becomes available. Do not attempt to approach or apprehend these bodies as they are considered extremely dangerous."

At the same time, as reported by Gawker, a crawl across the top of the screen identified the counties affected by the alert.

The station, KRTV, was quick to apologize:
Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that "dead bodies are rising from their graves" in several Montana counties.
This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency.
Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.
Hmmm ... too quick to apologize? We're suspicious.
