Rumors confirmed about villain in 'The Avengers?' Don't read this post if you don't want to know

Cobie Smulders as Robin - no, not Batman's Robin.

Her name is Cobie Smulders!

Who?

That's the actress who may be playing a key villain in "The Avengers" movie. Most recently, she portrayed Robin Scherbatsky on "How I Met Your Mother." Her sci-fi roles have included appearances on the TV shows "Andromeda" and "Smallville." She's also graced the cover of "Maxim" magazine. How do we know she's a villain in "The Avengers?" Didn't the recent announcement of her casting report that she would be playing SHIELD agent Maria Hill? Yes, it did. Now, thanks to the sharp-eyed folks at Bleeding Cool, we know her role is listed as Maria Hill/Anelle.

In the comic books, Anelle is a Skrull. (Cue eerie music.)

What to make of this? It's common knowledge that Loki will be in the film. And the rumor that the Skrulls are in the movie is not new by any means. Smulders is either part of a Skrull invasion ...or maybe a misleading piece of information released by the studio.
