'Pacific Rim' review: Power Rangers on steroids (sorry, Ken)

"Wait? Where did is say Power Rangers in my contract?"
"Pacific Rim," somewhat surprisingly for a movie about giant robots and giant monsters battling over the fate of the Earth, has been getting good reviews. It currently registers a 72 percent favorable rating with the critics on RottenTomatoes.com, and an even more impressive 87 percent with viewers.

Even Ken liked it

So I guess that puts me in the minority.

As a summer action film, nothing in particular is wrong with "Pacific Rim." (For details of the plot, click the link above and read Ken's review - thanks, buddy for saving me the trouble.) It's certainly better than the almost-unwatchable "Transformers."
