Doctor Who - Dark Eyes 3 Synopsis

Big Finish will be releasing Dark Eyes 3 this month with The Doctor taking on The Master when he was still a dude.  This is the third box set in the series and if you haven't listened to the first two Dark Eyes stories then you need to get them and listen to them as Paul McGann is superb in them.  You can buy it from the Big Finish website.

"Molly O'Sullivan? Hello you."

In his quest for universal domination, the Master plans to exploit the terrifying Infinite Warriors of the mysterious Eminence. The Doctor's friend, Molly, is key to that plan's execution, and now, aided by corrupted genius Sally Armstrong, the Master is close to success.

Paranoid and perplexed after his recent experience, the Doctor skirts the fringes of the fifty-year conflict between humanity and the Infinite Armies. Wary of changing the course of history, he fears that to fight the Eminence would be to do the Daleks' bidding. But when Time Lord CIA agent Narvin provides the impetus for the Doctor to act, Liv Chenka joins him in a desperate race to save their friend and stop the Master.

As the Doctor goes head to head with his oldest and deadliest rival, this war is about to get very personal indeed...

Doctor Who - Into The Dalek Review (Spoilers)

Source
This episode has been one a lot of us have been eagerly anticipating. Watching the how a new actor interacts with one of his oldest foes is something incredibly special, and this episode doesn't disappoint. After watching an interview with Peter Capaldi explaining how sinister the atmosphere becomes when a they are shooting a scene with a dalek, this was something I was excited to see.

Doctor Who - Farewell Matt:The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe

Doctor Who:
The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe
By Steven Moffat

"Usually called the The Doctor or The Caretaker or Get Off This Planet."

It's Christmas Time 2011 and you know what that means. It means presents, Santa Clause leaving something good, having Christmas Dinner with family and friends, and of course a brand new Doctor Who Christmas Special. The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe is Matt Smith’s second Doctor Who Christmas Special and it is not as good as his first.

Well this is also Steven Moffat's second Christmas Special and like last year he has borrowed from popular literature.  Last year was obviously a take on Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" and this time it is a take on C. S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I know what you’re saying well no duh just look at the title of this special and you should have guessed that. Well any way, I liked the idea of incorporating that story into Doctor Who and was pretty curious to see how they would pull it off.

Steven Moffat introduces this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special

"The Doctor at Christmas - it always just feels so right. When I was a kid, Santa and the Doctor somehow lived in the same place in my head - two generous madmen that I loved so much. So now that the Doctor is a regular feature of Christmas the world is just that bit more right.
"This time we're in England in the 1940s, and recently widowed Madge Arwell hasn't told her children, Lily and Cyril, that their father has died flying his bomber home over the channel, because she doesn't want Christmas to become the day that broke their hearts.
"But when they're evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset for the holidays, and meet a mysterious young caretaker in a bow tie, events take an unexpected turn. What could be inside that big blue parcel under the tree?
"Soon the Arwells find themselves in a battle for survival in a magical new land. As ever, at this time of year, the Doctor is trying to make things right, and as always it doesn't go according to plan. But maybe he's reckoned without the power of a determined mother.
"This Christmas, it might just be the lonely Time Lord who's shown the way home."
