My Top 25 Sci-Fi Movies of All Time - #7

My Top 25 Sci-Fi Movies of All Time

By Ken Parker

I have already talked about expectations when going to see a movie. Sequels will often try to capitalize on the success of the original by trying to capture some of the magic that made those movies popular. You would more often than not see the same characters doing similar things in similar situations. Many times the sequels are amped up a bit with more of everything to try to outdo the original. Other times the situation may be much different but keep the same characters. The object of the sequel is to be different enough for people to not feel they are watching the original and yet be as similar as possible.

The following is a sequel that really did not do this. Instead it took some brand new ideas and put the same characters into that different situation.

White House: No evidence of aliens on Earth

But it must be true - I saw it on the Internet!
Some headlines we don't have to make up.

The White House - yes, the one where President Barack Obama lives in Washington, D.C. - has officially announced, in effect, that Area 51, the X-Files, Roswell and other stories about aliens interacting with humans are, well, made up.

As quoted by the Associated Press:
“The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race,” the Obama administration said in a statement. “In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye.”
“The fact is we have no credible evidence of extraterrestrial presence here on Earth,” according to the statement posted to the White House website and attributed to Phil Larson, a research assistant at the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
