Doctor Who - TARDIS Lego Set Revealed

Coming this December just in time for Christmas is the TARDIS Lego set.  Below is pictures and a video of the new Doctor Who Lego set and I am sure a lot of fans are excited by this.  I'm sure there are a lot of old time fans that wished we had this back in the day.  Now we do.

Doctor Who - Lego Game Dimensions To Feature 12th Doctor

The Lego site released a picture showing the 12th Doctor and K- 9 in an advert that shows that they will be in the new Lego game Dimensions.  The game while not set in the Whoniverse will have a bunch of adventures which you will have to buy several packs to play.  So far we only know that the 12th Doctor is in it.  Hopefully more Doctors will be added and now what we need to see if there will be any Doctor Who Lego sets to build.

Doctor Who joins the Lego family!‏

The news that a lot of Doctor Who fans have been waiting for has finally arrived.  Doctor Who will now have it's own Lego line. You'll be able to make sets based on the TARDIS and any other scene in Doctor Who similiar to the way the Star Wars Lego's are handled.  The release will be later this year.  Here is the official press release about the Doctor Who Lego line.

Doctor Who and LEGO® fans around the world received exciting news today as The LEGO Group announced that it would be producing a LEGO Doctor Who set.

The concept for a Doctor Who set came from the LEGO® IDEAS website where fans can submit ideas for a set and vote for their favorite idea to be produced.

Doctor Who - Could Doctor Who Lego's Be On The Way?

It appears that the rights issue that has prevented fans from enjoying building and playing with Doctor Who Lego's might actually become a reality.  Nothing is written in stone and Lego hasn't announced that they will be releasing or making Doctor Who Lego sets anytime soon but now that the rights issue has been lifted Lego can go ahead and do it.  Lego Cuusco has stated that they are a crowd sourcing platform and if a product got 10,000 votes then the product is a go.  Here is a statement from their website.

Sometimes we have to turn down project submissions that refer to specific brands or licensed properties. We do this to avoid getting your hopes up for something we know we aren't able to make. In these cases, we already know the LEGO Group can't secure licensing rights to produce construction toys based on a particular brand or property, due to a conflicting interest with a third party.
If such a conflict goes away, we'll then be able to accept projects based on a particular brand or license.
