Video From ICON 31 Of Paul McGann Reading 1st Doctor Speech From The Dalek Invasion Of Earth

I found this video making the rounds on the web that some fan took at last weekends ICON 31. The video consists of Paul McGann reading that famous speech from the closing moments of episode 6 of the William Hartnell classic "The Dalek Invasion of Earth."  Wish I was there on Sunday when this panel happened.

ICON 31 – One Of The Best Ever

It’s another rainy, cold March day which means it must be ICON time.   Well that it is and this past March 31, 2012 The Knights (well four of us) partook in that geek filled love pilgrimage to the SUNY campus for the annual sci-fi and anime convention.   This has always been one of my favorite conventions and I can count on one hand how many that we have missed which is not many at all.  I have been taking that 3 hour plus drive since 1995 when I first enjoyed ICON for the first time.  So how did this year’s version which is the 31st edition measure up.  Well it was by far one of the best ICONS that I have attended.

The Knights Exclusive Interview With Paul McGann From ICON 31

On Friday March 30, 2012 I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Paul McGann.  So off we went on the 3 1/2 hour drive to Ronkonkomo, New York. Needless to say that I was a tad bit nervous.  But nerves turned to excitement as the man himself entered the meeting room that was reserved for press. Paul McGann was very accommodating and happy to see us. I was now truly excited as  I was about to partake in a one on one with one of the actors that played my favorite television character of all time The Doctor.  Well it was a wonderful experience and here is the interview in which Paul McGann talks candidly about Doctor Who, his time with Big Finish and what projects he has coming up.

At this time I would like to thank Ken Deep The ICON Media Director for giving us this opportunity to interview Paul McGann and to Vernon Hill for driving me down to Long Island and for also taking all those great pictures.

Paul McGann To Replace Sylvester McCoy As ICON 31 Guest

Paul McGann will be stepping in for Sylvester McCoy who will be in New Zealand a tad bit longer to film his scenes for the Hobbit.  Sylvester McCoy is eyeing to attend ICON 32 next year.  I'm not at all sadden by this as I have never met Paul McGann yet and will be looking forward to meeting him.  It should be interesting to see him and Daphne Ashbrook together at the same convention.  ICON 31 is March 30 - April 1, 2012.  Here is a video from the ICON website announcing the change.

Check Out Pioneer One

Here is something worth checking out.  An independant series about the return of a lone Soviet survivor from a mission to Mars.  Of course this ignites cold war tensions and such plus a lot more.  What is cool about this scifi series is that it is shown on exclusively on the internet.  Another thing that is neat about it is that they get their funding by fans who donate money to them if they like what they see.  For more info about Pioneer One check out their site.  Plus you can also meet them at this years ICON convention.
