X-Men - Apocalypse - Director and Casting News

Bryan Singer will be back to direct X-Men - Apocalypse for a May 27, 2016 release date.  The movie will take place in 1983 and will feature Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (The Best) among others reprising their roles in the film.

This timeline also means that characters like Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops will all be recast with younger people. This probably does not pertain to Hugh Jackman, who continues to age as slow as Wolverine.

Prometheus 2 Planned for March 2016

Michael Green (Green Lantern) is to be writing the sequel to the Alien prequel, Prometheus.  This movie is promised to have more connections with the Alien franchise as well as more androids played by Michael Fassbender (David in Prometheus).

While I was disappointed in Prometheus, I thought it's scope was excellent.  Lets hope they can improve on things for the sequel.

'Prometheus' spoiler?

Dark cave. Giant head. Who thought this expedition was a good idea?
Did you read the headline? It clearly says "spoiler," so continue reading at your own risk.

(Why you're reading blogs like this and acting surprised when you come across something that you interpret as a spoiler is an argument for another day.)

Anyway, Comic Book Movie has deciphered an alleged script call sheet from "Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." If the call sheet is real, and if the reading of the low-quality scan is correct, it contains a spoiler (there's that word again. Remind me: Why are you reading this?)

Spoiler after jump!

'Prometheus' goes viral with 'Happy Birthday David' video

Creepy.

That's the word that best describes Michael Fassbender's performance in the new viral video for Ridley Scott's eagerly-anticipated "Prometheus." The video introduces Fassbender as the android David.

"Prometheus" orbits into theaters on June 8.

Robocop? Yes. Michael Fassbender? Not so fast.

The Robocop rumors have created a mess.
Remember that "Michael Fassbender to play title role in new Robocop" movie story?

You're going to find this difficult to believe, but apparently not everything you read on the Internet is 100 percent true. Yes, not even this blog.

Jose Padilha, who will be directing the rebooted Robocop movie, told IFC how the rumor got started:
"I was doing an interview with a Dutch guy because 'Elite Squad' was opening in Holland. They wanted to talk about 'RoboCop' because of (Paul) Verhoeven, the Dutch director (of the original film). So he asked me 'Who is going to be RoboCop?' I said, 'I don't know, I'm not there yet.' 'Who is going to be RoboCop?' 'I don't know!' So he says, "How about Fassbender?" I said, 'I think he's great.' That was it!"

Hollywood scraping the rust off 'Robocop'

Peter Weller - the original.
In case you have not heard, the 1987 sci fi classic "Robocop" is on the long list of Hollywood movies being remade. Or rebooted. Or, in the case of a crime-fighting, half-man, half-robot, how about recycled?

José Padilha is the director attached to the project. And he thinks he's found his Alex J. Murphy, memorably portrayed in the original by Peter Weller. According to Sandy Schaefer of Screen Rant, Padilha wants Michael Fassbender, recently seen playing the young Magneto in "X-Men: First Class" as his cyber hero.
