Doctor Who - Is Peter Jackson Directing A Doctor Who Episode????

An interesting video surfaced on Peter Jackson's Facebook page where it appears he might be directing an episode of Doctor Who.  Nothing is confirmed but this tongue and cheek video sure does suggest it and it also features Peter Capaldi delivering a contract.  Well we'll just have to wait and see if this becomes a reality for Series 10.

Peter Jackson Wants To Direct Doctor Who

I guess when he gets sick of Hobbits and Middle Earth Peter Jackson would love to direct Doctor Who.  In fact he wants to do it so bad that he would do it free.  The full interview is in todays Entertainment Weekly and here is a snippet of what he said.

"They don't even have to pay me," Jackson joked, adding: "I have got my eye on one of those nice new gold-coloured Daleks. They must have a spare one!"
Lets hope Steven Moffat is listening as this would be pretty cool to have the guy who brought Tolkien to life before our eyes to direct a Doctor Who adventure.

The Hobbit Trilogy Confirmed

There will be three movies instead of two for The Hobbit.  Sourced from  http://www.aintitcool.com/node/57327  Peter Jackson's comments on it -

It is only at the end of a shoot that you finally get the chance to sit down and have a look at the film you have made. Recently Fran, Phil and I did just this when we watched for the first time an early cut of the first movie - and a large chunk of the second. We were really pleased with the way the story was coming together, in particular, the strength of the characters and the cast who have brought them to life. All of which gave rise to a simple question: do we take this chance to tell more of the tale? And the answer from our perspective as the filmmakers, and as fans, was an unreserved ‘yes.'
We know how much of the story of Bilbo Baggins, the Wizard Gandalf, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur will remain untold if we do not take this chance. The richness of the story of The Hobbit, as well as some of the related material in the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, allows us to tell the full story of the adventures of Bilbo Baggins and the part he played in the sometimes dangerous, but at all times exciting, history of Middle-earth.
So, without further ado and on behalf of New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Wingnut Films, and the entire cast and crew of “The Hobbit” films, I’d like to announce that two films will become three.
It has been an unexpected journey indeed, and in the words of Professor Tolkien himself, "a tale that grew in the telling."
Cheers, Peter J

The Hobbit Trilogy?

It would seem Peter Jackson doesn't want to end his time in Middle Earth.  There has been talks of extending the shooting of The Hobbit to stretch the two movie series to three.

The Hobbit Video Blog

Here is the latest video blog from the making of The Hobbit.  This segment includes a look at the science behind the 3-D to be used in the film.  I am not a fan of 3-D in films in the way that it is currently being done but am fascinated on how much Peter Jackson is doing to work it into his films.  Should be interesting to see.

Peter Jackson releases official dwarf photo

Call them "little people" and they will cut you off at the knees!

Peter Jackson, director of "The Hobbit," has released a composite photo of the actors. Jackson is not attending Comic-Con in San Diego. As the posted on Facebook:
"New Line and Warner Bros. were very happy to support a presentation, but I declined, simply because I felt it was too early. There's so much more of the films still to shoot. I just wanted to get that out there, because I've seen various references to the possibility of something Hobbity at Comic Con. Hate to disappoint anyone. But something tells me we will be there in force next year."
