Doctor Who - Who's Changing - An Adventure In Time With Fans Review

Who's Changing :
An Adventure In Time With Fans

I don’t usually watch documentaries.  The ones I usually enjoy watching are the ones about my favorite Boston sports teams winning yet again another championship and the trials and tribulations it took to win that championship.  Right now I’m watching the ones about the 2013 Boston Red Sox winning the World Series which for me was a delight and surprise as they were not predicted to even be a contender but back on topic with documentaries.  I generally do not watch them that much and when a new Doctor Who DVD comes out I generally watch the episode and do not watch the extras or VAM as you call them in the UK.  So when I saw the trailer for Who’s Changing and posted it on the site I was a bit curious.  A documentary about Doctor Who fans that is funded by Doctor Who fans through an internet fundraising site and most importantly it was made by fans. I was pretty intrigued that I had to have this DVD and watch it.

Doctor Who - White Ghosts Synopsis

A close encounter with a stray missile leads the Doctor to materialise his TARDIS on a planet that hangs in the dark at the edge of the known universe. A planet so dark that it exists in near-permanent night. A planet that enjoys just a single day’s light once every thousand years…

Exactly what happens on the planet in its rare daylight hours – that’s what a geographical survey headed by Senior Tutor Bengel is stationed here to establish. They, the Doctor and Leela are about to discover that when daylight comes, the White Ghosts rise…

So don’t be afraid of the dark. The cover of night is a mercy.

Directed By: Nicholas Briggs

Tom Baker (The Doctor), Louise Jameson (Leela), Virginia Hey (Bengel), Bethan Walker (Aranda), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Morandi), James Joyce (Candelli/Harvester)

MADAME FRANKENSTEIN IS ALIVE… WITH HORROR AND DRAMA

MADAME FRANKENSTEIN IS ALIVE…
WITH HORROR AND DRAMA
Vincent Krall sets out to create the perfect dame,
and gets a monster instead

Sure to send a shiver down any reader’s spine, Image Comics’ new series MADAME FRANKENSTEIN is an all-new vintage-style horror drama series from Jamie S. Rich (You Have Killed Me) and newcomer Megan Levens. In 1932, Vincent Krall sets out to create his perfect woman by reanimating the corpse of his recently deceased lover. But he soon begins to realize that perhaps man was not meant to peer beyond the veil between life and death.

“I have always been fascinated by the Frankenstein legend and the deeper mythological meanings in Shelley's original novel, so when Megan came to me with her concept for a My Fair Lady-style appropriation of the concept, it took me all of two seconds to say yes,” said Rich. “There seemed to be so much potential there, both in terms of exploring the thematic depths of the story and playing around with the look and feel of classic horror. The downfall of Victor Frankenstein was that he played God and tried to build his own version of man. His hubris was in thinking too highly of his own capacity for creation. Our mad doctor's bigger mistake is underestimating the power of women.”

Beavers + Zombies = "Zombeavers"

This is one of those cases where the title pretty much says it all.

"Zombeavers."

Yes, zombies and beavers.

And of course they terrorize a group of young (hot) college students. The official synopsis:
Zombeavers is an action-packed horror/comedy in which a group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids. Riding the line between scary, sexy and funny, the kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend off the hoard of beavers that attack them in and around their cabin.

A DAME TO DIE FOR IN
FATALE: DELUXE EDITION
Hardcover edition of the Eisner-nominated series out in March from Image Comics

Josephine is everything a femme fatale should be—beautiful, alluring, dangerous. And she’s also cursed. The heroine of the Image Comics series FATALE by Ed Brubaker (VELVET, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Sean Phillips (Criminal) is irresistible to men, who will do anything to be with her once they’ve fallen under her spell, inevitably leading to their ruin and unimagined horrors. Immortal,
Josephine must bear witness to their suffering again and again as she struggles to unravel the mystery of her own existence.

A lush combination of crime noir and Lovecraftian horror, FATALE was nominated for five Eisner Awards in 2013 (Best Continuing Series, Best New Series, Best Writer, Best Penciller/Inker, Best Cover Artist). And now Image Comics is proud to announce a special hardcover edition that collects the first ten issues of the critically acclaimed series. In this first volume, Josephine’s quest will lead her into the depths of an ancient evil, a path that takes her from 1950s San Francisco, where crooked cops hide deeper evils, to mid-'70s L.A., where burnt-out actors and ex-cult groupies are caught in a web around a Satanic snuff film.
