Underworld: Awakening Movie Review (Mild Spoilers)



This week has been a week for watching movies with woman kicking ass.  Earlier this week I watched Gina Carano putting the beat down to the bad guys in Haywire.  Now I’ve just finished watching Kate Beckinsale kicking ass in Underworld: Awakening.

Kate Beckinsdale in leather can mean only one thing. OK, it can mean a few things. To movie-goers, though, it means another "Underworld" film is in the works. Fans of the series now have both a television spot (above) and new teaser (below) for "Underworld Awakening" to enjoy.

Beckinsale is back for her third turn as as vampire Selene (she did not appear in the 2009 prequel, "Underworld: Rise oo the Lycans."

Overall, "Awakening" is the fourth film in the series. It opens Jan. 20.

Happened to see the first "Twilight" movie over the weekend. Yawn.

Then I saw the trailer for "Underworld Awakening" today. And I'm excited about vampires again.
