The summer movie season is ramping into high gear and what better way to start it off (besides watching The Avengers) is to experience Mad Max: Fury Road.  Good news for Twin Peaks fans and I look at the new home theater technology coming out this year.

The Limited Series Will Premiere In 2016

LOS ANGELES - October 6, 2014 - Dig into some cherry pie and rejoice! Today, SHOWTIME announced that the critically-acclaimed Golden Globe(R) and Peabody Award-winning series TWIN PEAKS will return as a new limited series. Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost are on board to write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series. Four-time Oscar(R) nominee David Lynch will direct every episode. TWIN PEAKS will go into production in 2015 to air on the network in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of when the program last aired. Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series' passionate fan base. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc.

My Return to Twin Peaks - The Series, Movie and Blu-ray

This was probably the 5^th or 6^th time watching the entire series from start to finish and obviously the first time in High Definition.  It is interesting to note that the TV series debuted as a quirky murder mystery with its appeal in the off beat characters, moody music and cinematography and the need to find out Who Killed Laura Palmer?  The series was very popular and was the talk of the town.  I, along with many people, enjoyed its originality and that David Lynch craziness that is a signature in most of his movies.  The series would no doubt keep people returning because of the murder mystery.  The multiple cliffhangers ending season 1 would bring back huge audiences in season 2 but then the inevitable dilemma surfaced for the writers – you reveal the killer and audiences drop or you drag out the reveal and audiences drop.

Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray

July 29 will see the Twin Peaks Blu-Ray set released.  The set is supervised by David Lynch who produced the 1990 series. The two season, 30 episode series spawned a prequel movie called Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me and that movie will also be in the set along with 90 minutes of deleted and alternate takes from that movie.
