With the return of Gallifrey this Saturday we at The Gallifrayan Gazette thought we take a look back at a couple of stories that took place on Gallifrey.

Doctor Who:
The Deadly Assassin
By Robert Holmes

“Through the millennia, the Time Lords of Gallifrey led a life of peace and ordered calm, protected from all threats from lesser civilizations by their great power.
But this was to change. Suddenly and terribly, the Time Lords faced the most dangerous crisis in their long history ...”

The Doctor has returned to Gallifrey and he doesn’t get the welcome he was expecting.  First the TARDIS is surrounded by the Chancellor guard and they are awaiting the key to break in.  The Doctor gives them the slip and proceeds to head to the capitol when he is caught by a guard.  A man in the shadows helps The Doctor out by shooting the guard allowing The Doctor to escape and make the guards think he is in the tower all the while The Doctor sneaks back to his TARDIS.

Synopsis For Doctor Who - Gallifrey Series 6 Box Set

This month sees the release of the last Gallifrey Series.  The 6th Box Set seems to lead to something or not but one thing for certain there will be Daleks in it.  You can order it from the Big Finish website.
http://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/gallifrey-series-6-box-set-785

Romana’s proud new Gallifrey is falling – the Daleks have come through the Axis from one universe, preparing to conquer all others. Swarming through the corridors of the Capitol, the Daleks seek, locate and exterminate everyone they find – because they are searching for something, a something they believe will give them domination over the entirety of existence. And it can only be found on this particular Gallifrey.

Whatever happens, wherever Romana, Leela and Narvin go, the Daleks will pursue them until they have what they want.

But elsewhere, someone else in another reality has a plan of their own, and is waiting for the right moment to confront Romana. Is this salvation or the ultimate betrayal?

22. EXTERMINATION
Gallifrey Fights…

Having infiltrated the Axis, the Daleks have secured access to a myriad alternative realities and, with them, countless Gallifreys… every one with secrets to be plundered.

As her new world falls to the might of the Dalek invasion force, Romana finds herself struggling to keep her friends alive as the Capitol collapses around her.

Against all odds, there may be a way out - back to the Axis and, potentially, back home. But desperate times call for desperate measures and, ultimately, sacrifices...

23. RENAISSANCE
Gallifrey Lies…

Returning to her original homeworld, Romana finds Gallifrey to be cold and empty… the corridors of the Capitol lie silent and the wastelands are populated only by a handful of primitive monsters.

Her only hope lies with the appearance of a strange young woman: a woman with a masterplan so devious it makes Romana’s own masterplans look decidedly not-devious-at-all…

How far would Romana go to save her world? Would she risk the Web of Time? And who is the mysterious stranger watching from the shadows…?

23. ASCENSION
Gallifrey Rises…

Romana’s sacrifice sees Gallifrey restored to its former glory, but at a terrible cost.

As the Time Lords begin to reclaim their stronghold, Leela and Narvin find themselves trapped in a decaying reality… and only K9 can help them.

As old friends fight to reunite, new threats lie in wait…

Because Braxiatel was right: war is coming.

This release includes a bonus documentary, looking back at all six series of Gallifrey, including interviews with the cast and crew.

Synopsis For Doctor Who: Gallifrey - Series 5 Box Set

Gallifrey rebuilds...

With Romana and Narvin ruling New Gallifrey from the heart of the capitol, their former friend Leela now lives as an Outsider, existing in the wastelands of Gallifrey with the former slaves she fought hard to free. With no hope of returning home, to their one true Gallifrey, these three exiles try to find a way to survive and build a better Gallifrey than the barbaric, lawless one they have found themselves in.

However, politicians, scientists and industrialists alike enjoyed luxury, power and wealth before Romana and Narvin came along and they will take any action they deem necessary to regain what they have lost. And if Leela’s Outsiders are swept away as a consequence, so much the better.

And in the shadows, watching and waiting, is an ancient evil that no one can stop...

19. EMANCIPATION

Supreme Leader of Gallifrey - the Lady President Romana - is making a series of decisions that are costing her allegiances within the Inner Council.

Lord High Chancellor Narvin is trying to protect the truth behind their presence there.

Emissary Leela is trying to secure basic rights for her allies, the Outsiders, now freed from generations of bondage to their masters, the Regenerators of Gallifrey.

But their enemies plan to expose the truth and let society rise or fall by the consequences of their political ambitions...

20. EVOLUTION

Before the fall of Project: Rassilon, the Regenerators of Gallifrey committed atrocities upon their slaves in the name of science. As Leela discovers the results of one such crucible, Romana and Narvin are pushing forward ways to discover the secrets of time travel, and jump-start their new Gallifrey’s evolution.

However, science isn’t always the way forward, and in a society built upon the foundations of amorality and fear, a backward step may be the only solution…

21. ARBITRATION

Romana’s secret is in danger of being exposed by those she trusts, and the only hope of escape is through the Axis. But will Leela’s forthright determination to see justice done, whatever the costs, mean their chance to get home will be lost forever…?

And if they are able to regain access the Axis, is the world they left behind any better than the society they have built here?

Time will tell.
