'Terra Nova' gets ax from Fox

"Terra Nova" has gone the way of the dinosaurs.

The ambitious - and expensive -  sci-fi series is being canceled after one season on Fox. The show, about people traveling back to prehistoric times to save the human race, premiered to much fanfare, but never actually caught on with fans.

Star Jason O'Mara broke the bad news, telling his Twitter followers: "Bad news, guys. Terra Nova has been cancelled by Fox."

The Scariest Horror Series on TV Now

Tis the season to be scared but what can you watch on TV to fit this bill?  Well, you could watch the news and see all the real terrors of our world.  If that is too gruesome (it is for me) then perhaps you can be mortified by all those reality programs such as Big Brother, Survivor and Jersey Shore or even scared by all the lack of talent in those types of shows.  But if you want to escape reality and the ‘fake reality” then cuddle up to one of these series on TV and be prepared to be scared, shocked, grossed out and terrorized.

Having Steven Spielberg as producer should give the show a boost where lesser names might have failed. Special prehistoric guest stars - think big, really big - who have been waiting around for work since the end of the "Jurassic Park" series can't hurt, either.
