New York - October 12, 2016 - BBC AMERICA and Fathom Events announced today a one-night special theatrical screening event of Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks animated series on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. local time – 50 years after the original BBC broadcast – in advance of the premiere on BBC AMERICA on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 8:25pm ET. The cinema event will also feature exclusive bonus content including interviews with members of the original cast.

Tickets for Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks in cinemas can be purchased online beginning Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10am ET by visiting www.FathomEvents.com, or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in select movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. The Power of the Daleks is one of the most celebrated Doctor Who adventures, and yet no complete film recordings are known to have survived. The master negatives were destroyed in an archive purge in 1974. This brand new animation, being released 50 years after its only UK broadcast, is based on the program’s original audio recordings, surviving photographs, and film clips.  The six-part adventure features the regeneration - or as it was then called “renewal” - of First Doctor, William Hartnell, into Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton, and follows the Time Lord and his companions Polly (Anneke Wills) and Ben (Michael Craze) as they do battle with the Daleks on the planet Vulcan.

New York – January 5, 2015 – BBC AMERICA’s Doctor Who finishes the year with its highest rated season ever on BBC AMERICA, plus the annual Christmas Special delivered over 2.3 million Total Viewers and was the #1 non-sports telecast in all of cable during the time period among Adults 25-54 in Live+3.

Doctor Who Takes Over BBC America

Starting August 18 BBC America will be travelling in the TARDIS all week until the new episode of season 8 airs that Saturday August 23 at 8pm.  The marathon will include all The Doctors Revisited episodes, the 10th and 11th Doctor Who episodes and various specials.  Included over the week are some new programming for BBC America including new programming like Doctor Who - The Ultimate Time Lord as well as some repeats of Doctor Who - The Ultimate Companion and An Adventure in Space and Time.

The lead up on Saturday August 23 includes a live pre-show hosted by Chris Hardwick at 8pm with the actual episode "Deep Breath" airing at 8:15pm.  The new BBC series The Intruders airs at 10pm followed by an after show at 11pm.

BBC America is also doing a "Make Your Own Sunday" where fans vote for the episodes they want to see on Sunday August 24.

The take over begins on Monday at 8am.

Announced today, comedian and Doctor Who superfan Chris Hardwick will host Doctor Who: Live Pre-Show at 7:30pm ET and Doctor Who: After Who Live at 11:00pm ET following the premiere of Intruders on August 23. The pre-show and post-show will feature an array of guests in the studio including writer and actor Mark Gatiss along with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

Doctor Who’s feature-length season premiere episode, Deep Breath, is a pulse-racing adventure through Victorian London. Directed by Ben Wheatley and written by Steven Moffat, the episode stars Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, Jenna Coleman as his companion Clara Oswald, Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny Flint and Dan Starkey as Strax.

In the lead up to Doctor Who’s new season, BBC AMERICA will premiere a series of specials including Doctor Who: The Ultimate Companion on Saturday, August 16, 9:00pm ET followed by The Real History of Science Fiction: Time at 10:00pm ET and Doctor Who: The Ultimate Time Lord on Monday, August 18, 10:00pm ET. Official BBC Press Release on Samuel Anderson Casting

Samuel Anderson (The History Boys, Gavin & Stacey) is set to join the cast of Doctor Who as a recurring character in the new season, which will also introduce Peter Capaldi as the Doctor to millions of viewers. Anderson will play Danny Pink, a teacher at Coal Hill School where companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) also teaches when the series returns to BBC AMERICA later this year.

On joining the show Samuel Anderson said: "I was so excited to join Doctor Who I wanted to jump and click my heels, but I was scared I might not come down before filming started! It's a quintessential part of British culture and I can't believe I'm part of it. It's an honor to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can't wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo!"

While Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer, added: "For the fourth time in Doctor Who history, Coal Hill School is coming to the aid of the TARDIS. In 1963 teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright accompanied the first Doctor. These days it's the turn of Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. Filming recently began on episode four of the new series, which will co-star Robert Goodman (Gangs of New York, Game of Thrones) and episode five, co-starring Jonathan Bailey (Broadchurch, Groove High), and Pippa Bennett-Warner (The Smoke, Death in Paradise).

John Simm to Star in Intruders

BBC America is developing a new series called Intruders based on a 2007 novel by Michael Marshall (Smith).  The series is described as "a chilling, paranormal drama set in the moody Pacific Northwest".

Glenn Morgan (The X-Files, Millennium) will produce and write the series.  John Simm will star and is probably best known for playing the Master in the new Doctor Who as well as Sam Tyler in the excellent Life on Mars.

The series heads to the very frontiers of space and science to produce the definitive television history of science fiction. The story of one of the liveliest and most stimulating genres in popular culture will be told through its impact on cinema, television and literature.

Each episode will explore one of the enduring themes of science fiction: time travel; the exploration of space; robots and artificial intelligence; and aliens. It will be made with the help of the genre’s greatest pioneers: the filmmakers, writers, actors, and graphic artists whose obsession and imagination has taken them into the unknown. Having explored the future, the past, parallel universes and galaxies far, far away, they are now ready to report back on their experiences.

This is the story of science fiction told by the men and women who fell to earth… From HG Wells's War Of The Worlds to The Terminator, from Doctor Who to Star Wars this series will guide viewers through a rich, thought-provoking and endlessly exciting genre.

The executive producer for the BBC is Michael Poole and overseeing production for BBC AMERICA are Richard De Croce and Rachel Smith.


This sounds really cool and I am even more excited as British sci-fi won't be ignored as it often is in American documentaries.  No word on when this show will be ready to airing but we will keep you posted.

Orphan Black Season One Review - Some Mild Spoilers

We all have those shows that we hear about and think “maybe I will watch it” or “If I have time I might give it a chance” or “perhaps someday..” Orphan Black was that type of show

for me. I really had little time to watch a new show but I gave it a chance. Ten episodes later and this series is my favorite show of the season. I wasn't expecting this and what a surprise. Every week this series got better and better. It continued to improve.
