Harrison Ford's Injury May Delay Star Wars VII

It is pretty well known now that Harrison Ford's injury to his leg was bad enough to keep him sidelined for a while but it could be up to 6 months.  Since Han Solo was meant to be a primary character for episode VII there is a rumor that an emergency meeting has taken place to come up with a plan.  Options probably include delaying the film's release date to 2016, an already crowded movie year with all the super hero films. Another option would be to re-write the film and take that character out of the film.  Not a good option but perhaps they can move is scenes into the next episode.  Yet another option is to write in the injury and have Han Solo going around in a wheel chair. A final option would be up George Lucas's alley would be to CG Ford's head onto a CG body and have him do the part that way.

Some of these are stupid but not out of the realm of possibility.

I think rewriting the part out of the movie or having him with an injury in the movie, depending on what he was doing in the film are good options given the bad situation.  Moving the movie to 2016, perhaps only until May (where the other Star Wars films opened by the way) might be the least damaging option of all.  We know Disney wants a Christmas movie release but this is Star Wars, and Star Wars is a summer film!

Star Wars News

Rian Johnson will be directing episode VIII of Star Wars and will be screenwriter for episode IX.  Johnson directed the sci-fi movie Looper (2012) and the TV series Breaking Bad.

As well reported everywhere, Harrison Ford had suffered a broken leg in an accident on set at Pinewood Studios while filming episode VII.  No word on when he will be able to return to work.

Interesting Rumor About Star Wars and Harrison Ford as Han Solo

Entertainment Weekly and Bleeding Cool have been touting the rumor that Harrison Ford would be glad to return.  It is also being rumored that he would like Han Solo to be killed off like he wanted back in 1983 with Return of the Jedi.

Will Harrison Ford Be In The New Blade Runner Movie???

Well I would like to see it but really wouldn't he be to old to fit in with the Blade Runner timeline.   Here is what the Executive Producer says.

"It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner. To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we're going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment."

But what about maybe in a fast forward to the future.  Still not possible though.

 "It's like asking if we're going to make the sky red or blue, there has been no discussion about it. What Ridley does in Prometheus is a good template for what we're trying to do. He created something that has some association to the original Alien, but lives on its own as a standalone movie. In advance of knowing what we're going to do, I supposed you could say yes, he could. But I think it is quite unlikely."

Cowboys and Aliens Movie Review (Spoilers)

On Monday, we wrote about the box office battle between "Cowboys & Aliens" and "The Smurfs." The latest numbers show that "Cowboys" pulled out a narrow victory. Still, that wasn't enough for Harrison Ford.

After attending the highly enjoyable "Cowboys & Aliens" on Sunday night, I sat in the theater lobby chatting with friends about the entertaining mixture of the Western and Sci Fi genres, the great cast led by Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, and so on. My gaze wandered to the indoor marquee, which displayed a showing of "The Smurfs" at 10 p.m. And I thought to myself, "Who's going to see the Smurfs at that late hour?"

Little did I know.

According to CNN, the two films tied for first place in weekend box office receipts, at $36.2 million. For "Cowboys," being No. 1 is bad news; it cost $163 million to make. The tab for "The Smurfs" was $110 million, giving the film a brighter financial future.

Harrison Ford was vague with his answer.

An interviewer for MTV recently asked Ford, who starred in the classic 1982 film, about the odds of him reprising his role in the wake of the rights to the franchise being sold. Actually, the interviewer inquired about Ford again playing "Rick Declan." Ford quickly corrected the character name to "Rick Deckard" as part of his reply.

"You know, I have no idea at this point. It's very early on and yeah, sure, I know some of the people involved, but it's a long way from fruition."

In some ways, "Cowboys and Aliens" may be the most anticipated movie of the summer. Harrison Ford. Daniel Craig. Aliens. Oh, and Olivia Wilde. This could be a classic. Or it could be crap. We'll find out on July 29.

Here is a new trailer for the Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford movie Cowboys and Aliens.  Cowboys and Aliens is a movie based on the 2006 Platinum Studios graphic Novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.  The graphic novel was written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley and drawn by Luciano Lima.  The movie will be out this summer and is directed by Jon Favreau the man who directed the last two Iron Man films.
