Michael O'Hare, who portrayed Commander Jeffrey Sinclair on 'Babylon 5,' dies at age 60

Actor Michael O'Hare, who helped launch the "Babylon 5" television series as Commander Jeffrey Sinclair in its first season, has passed away.

The show's creator, J. Michael Straczynski, posted on his Facebook page Friday that O'Hare, who had been in a coma since suffering a heart attack on Sept. 23, had died at age 60.

Sci-fi fans will forever remember O'Hare for landing his role as Sinclair, military governor of space station Babylon 5 - mankind's "last, best hope for peace." In one of the more bizarre casting changes on television, Sinclair and Straczynski parted ways after a single season. O'Hare, however, would return to make guest appearances on the program.

In season two, Capt. John Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner) replaced Sinclair for the remainder of the show's five-year run.

Updated with bad news! Walter Koenig: 'You might see another Babylon 5 in the not-too-distant future'

As telepath Alfred Bester on "Babylon 5," Walter Koenig stirred up quite a bit of trouble. Now, he's stirring up rumors.

During a recent appearance at a "Star Trek" convention, Koenig told fans he recently met with "Babylon 5" creator J. Michael Straczynski:

"He told me that he is in negotiations to reacquire the rights to Babylon 5 and it looks pretty good. Now, what that portends, I am not entirely sure. It could be a new series, or it could be a feature film, but he was quite animated about it. He seemed very excited, and Warner Brothers is dealing with him in good faith. So you might see another Babylon 5 in the not-too-distant future."

My Top 10 Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Series of All Time

So I hope some of you have enjoyed my 5 part look at my top 10 Sci-Fi and Fantasy shows of each decade ranging from the 60’s to 2000’s. I thought that I could stretch this out just one more week and have a battle of these top shows with my favorites bubbling to the top and analyzing the different decades.

Technology Time: Star Trek- The Next Generation Blu-Ray

It has been reported that CBS is working on HD prints of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

So what? There have been so many other older TV shows released in HD of late, why is this such a big deal? Well, this, to my knowledge, is the first time a TV show is being re-edited and re-mastered in HD for a release. Many shows have been cleaned up and their film prints transferred to HD but in this case, more work has to be done.

Back by popular demand (I was bored), is my top 10 Sci-Fi and Fantasy TV series of the decade and this time we travel back to the 90's.

Jeff Conaway Dies at the age of 60

It is really a shame to hear this as this guy has been through so much and really was never able to kick his drug addiction.  His recent overdose of pain meds coupled with pneumonia put him into a coma last week.  He was taken off life support and died the next day.
