'Iron Man 3' Review: Action, Laughs, Cliches and Spoilers

Stop - in the name of glove!

"Iron Man 3," to answer what is probably your first question, is better than "Iron Man 2," although not as good as the original.

When it comes to action, the filmmakers obviously know what they are doing. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) flies across the screen in several different stylings of his Iron Man armor. It's a good thing he has many spare suits, because they take a beating through the course of the movie.

Stark's sense of humor - one of the traits that separates him from his fellow superheroes - again lightens the mood, although not always appropriately. Still, it's hard to imagine anyone other than Downey telling a small boy whose family was abandoned by his father, "Dads leave. No need to be such a pussy about it."

Ben Kingsley, as the Mandarin, delivers a top-notch performance that touches closely on our worst fears about terrorism on American soil. I have to give him credit because I had my doubts about the character. Make no mistake about it - he makes the Mandarin seem as evil as Osama bin Laden. Gwyneth Paltrow admirably returns as Pepper Potts with some actual acting scenes. Happy (Jon Favreau) Hogan spends much of the movie in a coma - a good thing, from my point of view. Don Cheadle is back as War Machine/Iron Patriot (or, more accurately, Iron Man Lite).

If you liked either of the first two movies, you are guaranteed to enjoy "Iron Man 3."

2012 was an amazing year for movies and TV that there was so much to see and experience for all the geeks out there. Not to mention in the world of comic books also as Spider – Man celebrate his 50th anniversary and boy was it a shocking celebration.   So now we Bid Adieu to 2012 and hello to 2013 and to all the cool things that geeks cannot wait to see.  So here is what I am anxiously looking forward to seeing.

First Official Production Photo For Iron Man 3

The next stage of Marvels super hero movies has begun with Iron Man 3.  It is believed to be based on the Extremise story from a few year ago but like everything else we will wait and see.

Jessica Chastain, Andy Lau may join 'Iron Man 3' cast

Does she have a superpower?Does she need one?

I guess this means Iron Man survives "The Avengers."

Not that there was any doubt, of course. But we haven't even seen "The Avengers" yet, and already casting news for "Iron Man 3" is hitting the Internet.

Mike Fleming of Deadline reported that Jessica Chastain is in talks to play "a sexy scientist every bit as smart as Tony Stark" (Robert Downey Jr.). Chastain was very busy in 2011, starring in six movies, including the Oscar-nominated "The Tree of Life" and "The Help."

Then Mark "RorMachine" Cassidey cited a Twitch report on ComicBookMovie.com in saying that "House of Flying Dragons" star Andy Lau is in line to join the cast as well. Here's how his character is described:

“A good guy – a Chinese scientist who comes to the aid of his old buddy Tony Stark by providing him with some new tech that will help him battle Ben Kingsley’s villain, but more importantly Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) and his Extremis biotechnology.”

Oh, did we mention Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce already are signed on? Filming begins next month in Wilmington, N.C.

A "good guy," but I don't think I'd cross him.
