X-Men: First Class Sequel To Be X-Men: Days of Future Past

Bryan Singer has confirmed to IGN that the next X-Men movie will be based on the Chris Claremont and John Bryne classic 1981 X-Men story from Uncanny X-Men 141 and 142.  For X-Men fans this is pretty good news as this story is one of the greatest in X-Men history.  Here is a quote from Bryan Singer:

"It's going to be very ambitious," Singer told IGN.com. "It's called 'Days of Future Past.' It deals with aspects of that comic, but also some very new things -- I just don't want to give any of it away."

I think there's a strong desire to broaden out the universe," he said. "I mean, the X-Men Universe is every bit, on its own, as big as the Marvel Universe, and I think it's time to reach out and explore it, and perhaps even bring some connectivity between the films -- as Marvel has done so well."
Anyway this movie promises to be a good one and it will be interesting to see how they adapt it for the X-Men: First Class Marvel Universe.

Prometheus Sequel

From Aintitcoolnews who got it from The Hollywood Reporter -

Fox confirms to THR that Scott and the studio actively are pushing ahead with a follow-up (stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed) and are talking to new writers because Prometheus co-scribe Damon Lindelof might not be available.

The title of the next film may be Paradise and might be out 2014-2015.

I am less enthusiastic about the sequel than I was Prometheus but still interested.  I feel Ridley Scott needs to go in an even more different direction with the next film.

Batman: Earth One Review

Here is a new take on the Batman legend by writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank.  Batman: Earth 1 was green light right away after the success of Superman: Earth 1.  So in true Batman fashion the duo gives us a new take on Batman’s origin and the path that leads him to be the hero we all know.   So was this Graphic Novel worth the hype that it garnered?

Big Finish Gets Their Doctor Who License Renewed

In what is great news, since I really enjoy listening to Big Finish Doctor Who Audio Adventures, Big Finish has their Doctor Who License renewed to December 2015.   Here are a few quotes from the makers of Doctor Who's Audio Adventures.

Executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery:
I'm so excited that we can continue our voyages with the Doctor for at least another three years, and so pleased that AudioGO and the BBC continue to trust us with the telling of these stories
 Executive producer Nicholas Briggs:
It's been a privilege and a pleasure for me to have worked on the Doctor Who audio range since 1999. I'm looking forward to continuing the excellent relationship we have with AudioGO and the BBC – and, of course, to the many exciting adventures for the Doctor I'll be working on over the next three years or more.
Line producer David Richardson:
We're already making plans for 2015, which will be the sixteenth year of Doctor Who audio productions from Big Finish and will include our landmark 200th main range play!
In addition to the Doctor Who main range and Companion Chronicles, we are working through ideas for an exciting new range which we hope to announce during 2013.
This great news.  If you enjoy old style Doctor Who with Doctor 4 to 8 then I suggest checking out Big Finish and give their Doctor Who line a try.  The stories are really fantastic.

The Avengers TV Series?

Marvel is looking into the idea or a TV show based in the same Universe as their blockbuster The Avengers movie.  Deadline is reporting that the series would probably not include any of The Avengers but perhaps may be centered around SHIELD.  ABC is in talks with Marvel on the idea.

Silly Rumor for Doctor Who

Some of you may have heard this rumor already as it has circulated for a while, mostly from fans who love trying to come up with the worst ideas for Doctor Who.  Unfortunately these silly lame ideas have been making their way into the new series more often than in the past.  Wouldn't it be great if the Doctor wore his cowboy hat again?  Fighting Hitler? River Song gets married to the Doctor?  So forth.

Minor spoilers after the break to be followed by one unlikely but "I wouldn't put it past the production team to do something this ridiculous and turn Doctor Who into even more of a comedic parody" spoiler.

We warned you.....
