Coming this December just in time for Christmas is the TARDIS Lego set.  Below is pictures and a video of the new Doctor Who Lego set and I am sure a lot of fans are excited by this.  I'm sure there are a lot of old time fans that wished we had this back in the day.  Now we do.

Doctor Who - Big Finish Announces The War Doctor Audio Series

Big Finish has announced that John Hurt will be reprising his role as The War Doctor in a series of box sets that will be our first glimpse of the Time War.  He will be joined by Jacqueline Pearce who will be playing a manipulative Time Lord.

The War Doctor's story will be told over four box sets that will have three linking stories among them and will be hour long in length. The first box set comes out in December and is called  Only The Monstrous by Nicholas Briggs.

Following Only The Monstrous release in December it will be followed by the three other releases the second coming in February with Infernal Devices written by John Dorney, Phil Mulryne and Matt Fitton.  Volume 3 and 4 are in pre - production and there are no details on them yet.

In addition to this release there will be an 8th Doctor - The Time War release coming in November 2017 and will follow the early stages of the Time War.  Paul McGann will star in this series and will be working along side the characters from the War Doctor series.

Doctor Who - Under The Lake - Review (spoilers)

I will make this review quick because I feel until I see the second part of this story, a lot of my criticism and praise is on hold.  I will say that this episode is a vast improvement over the past few. We have a mystery, there is something that looks like a ghost and acts like a ghost but obviously is not a ghost but wait a minute - the Doctor is now calling them ghosts.  The mystery will be solved next episode when we figure out what has happened to the Doctor.

Series 9 rolls along with Under the Lake.  Under the Lake is part one of a two part story this time by Toby Whitehouse.  He has written for the show before giving us stories like School Reunion, The God Complex and a few others but he is mostly known for the British and original version of Being Human.   Under the Lake is his first story for the 12th Doctor and by the next time trailer it looked really good.  I had high hopes for this story after watching the trailer as Doctor Who never really dealt with ghosts before, well, not in the traditional way.

After listening to the audio adventure Damaged Goods based on the Virgin New Adventure novel by future Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies (released in October 1996) all I could think was, “What a wasted opportunity.”   By listening to this story I could not believe it was by the same guy who got Doctor Who back on the air and made it into a romance novel half of the time.  Now granted there were some good stories during the RTD era but they were done by other writers.  He turned a show that was mainly science fiction and added the Buffy Element of relationships and love interests.  That’s fine for the companions but I was never that keen on seeing The Doctor as being a love interest and that includes Moffat’s 11th Doctor River Song storyline.  So when you hear Damaged Goods and here how different it is from his televised Doctor Who you just have to shake your head and wonder what if.

Doctor Who - BBC Announces Doctor Who Spin off "Class"

The BIG news that was teased all afternoon and evening, depending on your timezone, has been announced and it is a spin off series called Class and it will take place at Coal Hill School and will air on BBC 3. It will be written by Young adult author Patrick Ness.  The series will be aimed at Young Adults as we will see students take on monsters at Coal Hill School. The BBC Media Centre have released two interviews for Under the Lake the first one is with Sophie Stone.

How did you begin your acting career?

Sneakily and with perseverance. I've always found solace and release in the ‘language’ of performance and being told for years that I ‘can't’ made me rebellious and driven. So when a friend dared me to sign up for an acting talent competition which resulted in winning a year’s TV contract, which led to my first paid job on Casualty, I had a thirst to be better. I trained for three years at Rada and was re-born an official actor. This is only the beginning, I'm still learning with every job. That’s the beauty of it.
