Top 10 Pirated Films (Yes, There's a Pirate on the List)

What would Batman do to a movie pirate?
I guess this proves that sci fi fans are smarter than everyone else. Of course, we already knew that.

Or maybe it means we have less regard for copyright laws. We suspected that, too.

TorrentFreak has compiled a Top 10 List of Most Pirated Movies. Eight of the movies on the list have a strong Geek Factor. That makes sense when you think about it. By their nature, sci fi fans generally are going to be better at computers than your average movie fan.

The list is topped by "Avatar," which TorrentFreak estimates has been downloaded 21 million times, followed by "The Dark Knight" and "Transformers," each at 19 million.

The entire list:

1. Avatar (2009), 21 million
2. The Dark Night (2008), 19 million.
3. Transformers (2007), 19 million.
4. Inception (2010), 18 million.
5. The Hangover (2009), 17 million.
6. Star Trek (2008), 16 million
7. Kick-Ass (2010), 15 million.
8. The Departed (2006), 14 million.
9. The Incredible Hulk (2008), 14 million,
10, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), 14 million.
