Sam, Dean and Bobby are investigating
gruesome deaths in New Jersey. A lot of strange things are not
adding up. Speaking of strange, why is Dean acting it?
Spoilers
As with most TV series, you cannot keep
high quality going every week and in this case, this episode is a big
dip in quality. Apart from the fact that this episode deals with the
Leviathans in a big way and reveals some insight into what they are
up to, the story is not very good. We have the humor of Dean drugged
up attitude and certainly some good moments among our three favorite
hunters but the story just seems awkward.
This awkwardness is in the form of
pacing and direction I think. The story just seems to meander around
with the investigation. The entire idea of people being drugged by
the meat being sold in the restaurant reminds me of the Double Meat
Palace from Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and even that episode wasn't
that good.
The story does get on track toward the
end with the confrontation with the Leviathans and leaves the viewer
on a pretty big cliffhanger that thankfully and hopefully will be
answered before the show goes into its Christmas hiatus.
