Plans are in the works to make a feature film based on Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers. Normally I would have issue with remakes of movies that are not that old and since the first movie came out in 1997 it would seem a bit early to re-imagine this. Still, the movie did stray from many aspects of the novel and so perhaps it is warranted. I for one loved the Paul Verhoeven film when I first saw it. It's action, comedy and over the top dialog was just fine but in recent years I found the sarcastic humor and OTT acting and characters to be annoying. Perhaps a more serious film will be an improvement. Writers Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men - First Class) are on board. Source: Aintitcool.com.
