See if you can follow along. This is a photo of Erica Durance dressed up in the original Wonder Woman costume that was created for David E. Kelley's ill fated Wonder Woman series that was originally slated to air this fall. The series production was halted after only one episode was filmed.

Anne Hathaway On Her Catwoman Character
Anne Hathaway has been making the interview rounds lately and has given fans an insite into her interpretation on the Catwoman character.
"Gotham City is full of grace. You look at Heath [Ledger]'s performance as the Joker, there was a lot of madness there but there was also a grace and he had a code there. There's a lot of belief and codes of behavior in Gotham and my character has one, too. A lot of the way she moves and interacts with people is informed by her worldview. Chris [Nolan] has given us all such complex, defined, sophisticated worldviews that it's just a matter of doing your homework and getting underneath the character's skin."This quote is about how Anne Hathaway uses Hedy Lamarr as inspiration for her interpretation of Catwoman.
"I know this sounds odd, but her breathing is extraordinary. She takes these long, deep, languid breaths and exhales slowly. There's a shot of her in [the 1933 film] ‘Ecstasy' exhaling a cigarette, and I took probably five breaths during her one exhale. So I started working on my breathing a lot."
Christopher Lee on the Hobbit
Christopher Lee will be returning as Saruman in the Hobbit and gave his insite on the Hobbit and the character.
"Some of the characters from The Lord of the Rings are not in either of these films, sadly. Aragorn is not. I don't think the Rohirrim appear, from what I can remember. I'm not going to talk about the films because it's all confidential... I've done my part in each one. And that took about four days. What is extremely important is that in these two films, which of course are long before Lord of the Rings, in these two films Saruman — who I play again — is indeed still Saruman the White, but he is a good and noble man and a head of the Council of the Wizards as he always was."

Holmes and Watson - Check Mate (My review of Sherlock Holmes 2 - A Game of Shadows)
I'm not a frequent movie patron so if I make the effort to brave the crowds and overpriced candy, you know a movie has caught my eye.
Having seen both the Sherlock movies and the BBC series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, I have concluded that I am most definitely a Watson fan. I think Sherlock is an interesting character but Watson's stability appeals more to me.
Sherlock Holmes 2 - A Game of Shadows lives up to its previous film for me, except that I deduced the conclusion thirty minutes before it ended. Sherlock is still the manic genius with a handy gift of foresight and martial art skills. Watson is just as level headed and discipline in his approach to all things. This time, we are finally introduced to Sherlock's antagonist, Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris. Harris's portrayal of Moriarty, as a sophisticated and intelligent villain, is well done. Chess is used as a metaphor for the ongoing conflict between Holmes and Moriarty, which fits for their type of relationship. They are both strategists and attempt to play as gentleman. I really liked the period costumes and the location shots are visually appealing. I found myself more enthralled with those than the slow motion action sequences. Don't worry, the movie has plenty of those, if you enjoy them.
If you are looking for 128 minutes of good fun, then this sequel is right up your alley. Just be careful you don't run into any unsavory characters while taking that stroll.
Doctor Who: The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe Review (Christmassy Spoilers)

The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe

It's Christmas Time and you know what that means. The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe is the 7th Doctor Who Christmas Special. Does it stand up to Specials of Christmas's past?

The Walking Dead - Mid Season Report Card (Spoilers)
Did you know that this series is about a world of zombies and that there have been many movies that have already dealt with this? Did you also know that after the first season there was very little originality shown in this show and I personally felt it was a very boring plot? Did you also know that this show has gotten higher attention, ratings and praise more so than so many excellent horror related series such as Supernatural and American Horror Story? Did you also know that the final episode of this half season changed my mind about this show and now I am liking it a lot?

Helen Mirren eyes a new role: Dr. Who
Does the TARDIS need a woman's touch? |
“I would like to play the new female Doctor Who. I don’t want to just be his sidekick.”If she wants the title role, that eliminates the 66-year-old actress as a competitor for taking over as The Doctor's companion when Amy Pond leaves the show. Mirren also would make history as the first female doctor.
First, of course, there's the matter of Matt Smith, the current doctor, who does not appear to be going anywhere soon.

Scarlett Johansson. Black Widow. Latex. Need we say more?
The heat of the spotlight doesn't seem to bother Scarlett Johansson. |
Johansson's character must share the screen with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Chris Evans' Captain America, the Mark Ruffalo and CG versions of the Hulk, and Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury. But she recently told Jeremy Gordon of the MTV Splash Page that she doesn't seem to be too worried about getting lost in the ensemble cast of director Joss Whedon:
“There are a lot of people to serve in [‘The Avengers’], for sure. The Widow has a great story. I think Joss did a great job of weaving together all these characters’ stories. It was no small feat for him.”Might we see her again in "Iron Man 3?"
“I have no idea. I don’t know if I can get that latex suit on after the finishing ‘Avengers.’ I might have to take a break from the latex suit for a minute, eat some real cheese, and then get back into it.”"The Avengers" assembles in theaters on May 4.
Karen Gillan interview with Hero Complex
Karen Gillan is not done playing Amy Pond alongside Matt Smith's Dr. Who - yet. |
NC: Series 6 has been quite different in tone from previous seasons.
KG: I think so. I think that the stakes were upped this time ’round. Everything got a little bit more dangerous, and everything got a little bit more funny and a little bit dark at the same time. So there’s kind of light and shade to it, so it’s not all serious, you know. I just think it’s been the best so far, I really do.
NC: It’s been a lot scarier. The Silence are terrifying villains.
KG: They are absolutely hideous physically. I find them repulsive. Yeah, I think it’s gotten a lot scarier. People are worried that it’s gotten too scary for kids, but I really think that kids love being scared. I loved being scared when I was a kid. The thrill of it, it’s like going on a roller coaster.

Steven Moffat on Dr. Who Hollywood 'reboot:' Over my 'beheaded' body!
Steven Moffat appears to have the fans - and maybe even the Daleks - on his side. |
“Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch."Not surprisingly, many fans were upset by the news. Moffatt himself was quick to do his best to quash the talk, declaring simply:
“To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot."Apparently not content with that retort, Moffat responded again this week during an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live's Richard Bacon Show:
David was talking a little out of turn, there; a very, very brilliant director but no the film as described by him, of course we're not going to do that - a film that contradicts the television series, it would be a heathen thing to do ... I would be 'beheaded' to do such a thing!
It would be wonderful to do a Doctor Who film, but when and if we did - and hopefully we will be doing it - it will be very much an offshoot of the television series and we'll be part of it, and it will star the television Doctor, of course - anything else would be heresy!Strong words, but until Yates gives in, is the battle over?

Steven Moffatt: End is near for Amy and Rory Pond
Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan: Happily ever after? |
It's official: The days of "Dr. Who" companions Amy and Rory Pond are numbered.
"The final days of the Ponds are coming," Moffat reportedly said."I'm not telling you when or how, but that story is going to come to a heartbreaking end."He also said the Doctor, played by Matt Smith, will meet "a new friend." Said Smith:
"We had the most incredible journey. We took over the show and we've really had to hold hands and help each other through it."So it's very disappointing, but one has to remember that this show is about change and regeneration, and that's what galvanizes it and pushes it forwards."Gillan, for one, has been very vocal about how her character should end. On several occasions, she has expressed the opinion that Amy Pond should be killed off and not return for guest appearances. She recently told The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who 2012:
"Death would be an option. I don't want Amy to pop up again every so often, because for me it would take away from the big, emotional goodbye.
"Once she's gone, she's gone. I want people to remember the Amy Pond era as a good one."

New Blake 7 Novel From Big Finish Out In May

Here is a description of the book from the press release which you can read at this link

The Moff on Series 7 of Dr Who
Doctor Who Magazine has an interview with Steven Moffat about what he has planned for series 7 of Doctor Who. He doesn't reveal much but here is a litte bit of what he says. To read the full interview go out and bye Doctor Who Magazine.
The big thing is, nothing in the next run is starting out as a two-parter," he confirms in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine. "At this stage, everything is a single episode, and the only reason anything will become a two-parter is if we think it needs to be; not so much that the story is too long for 45 minutes, because nothing is too long for 45 minutes, but if it feels as though there are two distinct stages to the story.... I want to be able to say, every week, we've got a big standalone blockbuster, and then a trailer that makes it look like nothing compared to what's going to happen next week! That's the form for next year.He then goes on about the cliffhangers and such and what he wants to open the season with.
"This year, we used a lot of cliffhangers and mysteries to pull people through, but then I remember the moment, at the end of A Good Man Goes to War, when we put up the title Let's Kill Hitler. That was so exciting. I'm thinking, ‘Can we do that every week?' You can sod off with poetic understatement. I want slutty titles and movie-poster plots. I want big pictures and straplines. The first episode I'm writing is called [Spoiler] of the [Spoilers]. And it'll feel a bit like Die Hard, that first episode. Everyone is expecting us to do another year like 2011. You're not going to get that at all. You're going to get the biggest, maddest set of episodes ever."

Simon 'Scotty' Pegg says Khan not in 'Star Trek 2' script
He swears he's telling the truth, the whole truth ... |
"I haven't heard the name Khan come up. Not to say it won't come up, but I have heard no mention of him whatsoever. He is a great villain. I don't want to say too much and then have to eat my words as I often do, but we've seen Khan [in a 'Trek' movie before]. To see him again, how much value is there in that? I don't know."

Review of Big Finish audio Loups-Garoux
There is something to be said for not particularly liking a companion in the Classic series, only to have a change of heart upon hearing them in a Big Finish audio. Let me explain. I did not like the companion Turlough when he first came aboard the TARDIS. Granted, he was trying to sabotage the Old Girl under direction of the Black Guardian and was planning to kill the Doctor. However, even after the Fifth Doctor forgave him and welcomed him on board, I still couldn’t warm up to him. Saying this, my opinion of that ginger companion is starting to change. I recently listened to the Big Finish audio Loups-Garoux with the Fifth Doctor and Turlough. This story occurs after Tegan leaves the TARDIS in the episode "Resurrection of the Daleks", leaving Turlough as the only companion traveling with the Doctor. I don’t know if events in "Resurrection of the Daleks and/or Tegan’s departure had any effect on him but Turlough’s attitude seemed less harsh in this story. Turlough’s concern for the Doctor’s life and even another character is quite a change for him.
The beginning of the story sets up the mystery with a wolf, the merchant‘s daughter - Ileana de Santos and a young Native American named Rosa, who keeps a diary. All three of these characters are mysterious and have enough secrets to fill a room. Just after hearing the familiar noise of the TARDIS landing, we soon discover that the Fifth Doctor has promised Turlough a holiday of fun in sunny Rio during Carnival season. But like all holidays that start from the TARDIS, things quickly go downhill.
I like the use of telepathy and a type of physical perception filters used by the Loups-Garoux. Since the Doctor is from a highly telepathic species, he is able to see past these cloaks, leaving his companion at a disadvantage when dealing with them. We find out soon enough who the Loups-Garoux are but are left with a mystery about Rosa. This only deepens at the conclusion since it leaves her character open to interpretation. Some people may not like this, preferring to have a concrete explanation, but I enjoyed making my own conclusions about her. If you are a fan of Tooth and Claw, you will enjoy this tale of werewolves and Indian mythology with the Doctor and his ginger companion.
Classic Dr Who Awesome News: Underwater Menace Episode 2 and Galaxy 4 Episode 3 Found At last
Great news for Doctor Who fans. It is being reported by the Doctor Who News Page and the BBC itself that the classic William Hartnell story Galaxy 4 Episode 3 "Airlock" and the Patrick Troughton story The Underwater Menace episode 2 have been found and aired at the British Film Insitute's Missing Believed Wiped event today. This is pretty awesome news as it was believed that most missing stories from this era would probably be no longer found. With this discovery lets hope that more missing Doctor Who stories will be found.

Woolly mammoths may be poised for comeback
Editor's note: This is not an anatomically correct representation. |
Woolly mammoths could walk the earth again, although not for another 20 to 50 years, according to scientists interviewed by CBS News. Still, given the fact that the most recent descendants of the extinct species - dwarf mammoths - died about 3,700 years ago, that seems like a short wait. Overall, the species survived for more than 1 million years. CBS reported:
Scientists regularly conduct research on the DNA of these shaggy giants, extracting it from tusks, bone and teeth. With all this genetic material on hand, there lies the distinct possibility mammoths might be cloned one day.

Introducing Bane - before 'The Dark Knight Rises'
Bane "unmasked" in preview. |
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
The majority of the preview introduced audiences to Bane, the Batman movie's major villain, played by a masked Tom Hardy. Without giving too much away, the footage revolved around a heist involving a plane.
The sequence was grand in scope, expanding the Batman world outside of Gotham City, and it was filled with a lot of tension and dread. The effect was not only from the images on screen but from the score, which was reminiscent of Nolan's The Dark Knight and Inception. In Massachusetts, the IMAX theaters that will be showing the footage include the Jordan's IMAX in Natick and the IMAX 3D Theatre in Reading. For a complete list, click here.
Sorry, we don't have a link the video - yet.
